Southeast Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SeABank, stock code: SSB) starts its 2025 charitable journey with the annual program Spring of Love. This year’s program, themed "Spreading Smiles", aims to support the vulnerables such as orphans, victims of Agent Orange, children orphaned by Covid-19, elder orphans, or female patients with serious illnesses across 29 provinces and cities nationwide.
Actively participating in CSR activities not only reflects SeABank's commitment to the community - closely aligned with one of its five core values “Community-oriented” - but also embodies the mutual aspiration to contribute, share love and connect of all SeABank employees. Since 2014, the annual program "Spring of Love" has been conducted every Lunar New Year and gradually become a cherished tradition, a beautiful corporate cultural trait of SeABankers.
With the theme "Spreading Smiles," Spring of Love 2025 takes place over two months (from January 2 to February 28, 2025), spreading the spirit of mutual love and bringing the warmth of spring to those in need across 29 provinces and cities of Vietnam. The program has been enthusiastically supported and carried out by SeABank employees nationwide.
Several gifts have been handed to those in need by SeABank employees and local authorities. Beneficiaries include individuals with difficulties at 7 schools, 8 hospitals/medical centers, and 12 social organizations/shelters.
In Ho Chi Minh City, SeABankers have awarded 50 scholarships and gifts to children at The Little Ants Library and children orphaned by the Covid-19 pandemic. Additionally, hundreds of gifts and necessities have been distributed to disadvantaged households in Thai Phuc Commune (Thai Binh province), disabled children at the Thanh Oai Relief Center (Hanoi), and victims of Agent Orange in Da Nang province.
As part of this program, SeABank Dak Lak branch has collaborated with the Vietnam Women's Union in DakLak to organize the program "Mother’s Care – Loving Tet". This initiative aimed to spread love and provide both material and emotional support to orphans in welcome of the Lunar New Year. Under the call of the Central Vietnam Women’s Union, DakLak province has 870 orphans sponsored, over 2,000 children provided with material and emotional support, totaling nearly VND10 billion. In this year’s program, SeABank Dak Lak and the organizing committee have awarded 66 gifts to students with outstanding academic achievements, further spreading love, motivating them overcome challenges and make efforts to succeed in studies and life.
Additionally, SeABank organized various humanitarian activities nationwide, including but not limited to: gifting female patients with serious illnesses in Nha Trang; awarding scholarships to underprivileged students in Thanh Hoa, Nam Dinh, Ha Tinh, and Vung Tau; donating necessities to elder orphans in Dong Nai; and handing 54 gifts to disadvantaged households in My Tho city, Tien Giang province, etc.
Beyond gifting and motivating, SeABanker further spreads the community-oriented spirit by providing warm, nourishing meals via its "Zero-VND Kitchen" initiative. On February 25, 2025, in Hanoi, SeABank set up a Zero-VND kitchen and provided 700 free meals to patients and their families at K Tan Trieu Hospital. The meals are rich in nutrition and meaning, motivating patients and families overcome treatment hardships. The initiative has been warmly welcomed by patients and locals, bringing joy and relief to those in need. Ms. Thanh Mai from Bac Giang province shared: “The meal was warm and filling. I am thankful for SeABank’s care and support”.
Over the years, SeABank has consistently prioritized and proactively carried out CSR activities in various forms such as disadvantaged patient support, gratitude houses and solidarity homes construction, blood donation, fundraising for the underprivileged, and granting scholarships to underprivileged students nationwide, etc. Upholding its mission to serve the community, spread love and share happiness, SeABank will remain its concentration on CSR activities as a commitment of its sustainable development strategy in the upcoming time.
