During 3 weeks from October 15 to November 8, 2024, "Citizens' Week 2024" by Southeast Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (SeABank, HOSE: SSB) has carried out many meaningful activities at 25 hospitals/schools/protection centers, cleaned up 2 beaches, and planted more than 2,000 new trees in 28 provinces and cities. This social program has been launched annually since 2010 with an aim to carrying out the Bank’s community responsibility, contributing to environmental protection and social security.
"Citizens Week 2024" with the theme "SeABankers connects the community” spreads the "Community-oriented" spirit - one of SeABank’s five core values. Through this, SeABank motivates the community to jointly take action to protect the environment and eliminate pollution, promote a civilized and healthy lifestyle, give hand to people with difficulties.
With the spirit of “Community-oriented”, thousands of SeABank employees have created collective strength, which contributed to spreading environmentally friendly lifestyle and habits in 28 provinces and cities. During 3 weeks from October 15 to November 8, 2024, "Citizens' Week 2024" has carried out many meaningful activities at 25 hospitals/schools/welfare centers such as granting hundreds of gifts to lonely elderly people and orphans, donating to build libraries for children, and donating blood.
SeABank employees also cleaned up two beaches, including Cua Lo beach - Nghe An province and Hoi An beach - Da Nang; planted more than 2,000 new trees to create green spaces and overcome the damage of storms and floods. Additionally, thousands of SeABankers have jointly cleaned up over 20 roads, streets, trenches and donated over 100 trash bins to public places in Ho Chi Minh City, Vinh Phuc, Thanh Hoa, Binh Duong, Can Tho, Kien Giang.
Through those practical activities, SeABank hopes to convey a positive message, not only to clean up the landscape where we live and work, but also to build healthy, green, sustainable living habits and lifestyle.
Along with activities of creating and maintaining green spaces, exchanging plastic waste for trees, erasing black spots of waste…, SeABank employees also delivered humanistic values through blood donation. With the spirit of "One blood drop given, a life remains", nearly 500 units of blood were donated to hospitals in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
The representative of the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion shared: “We would like to express our deep gratitude to SeABank for the enthusiastic support and charitable activity of blood donation. Rather than just the number of blood units contributed, the activity is a humane message of spreading love within the community. Hopefully these meaningful programs will be maintained and scaled up to guarantee a stable source of blood to save lives, bringing hope and maintaining life of more and more patients”.
